After thinking long and hard about the contents of my first blog post I thought it was a good idea for you to get to know a little about me. I didn’t want to bore you with my ‘life history (no-one’s got time for that drivel) but I thought it only fitting that you knew a little about my journey and what you could expect from future posts. I’ve kept it short and sweet so you don’t doze off!
Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter – Izaak Walton

Hi there. My name's Caroline, I'm 52 (going on 22); I have three children - two boys aged 28 and 21 and a girl aged 23. All are older enough to leave home (hint, hint) but only one has flown the coop. I've been married to Paul for 24 years, yet it only seems like yesterday we were staggering back from the pub having had too many whiskeys. I have three grandchildren who live too far away but I keep myself occupied with my blog and passing on my knowledge, experience and advice to anyone would like to listen.
However, be sure to make the information relevant in the context of your website. For example, tell the story of how your website came about and your personal journey.
On the other hand, avoid rambling, telling your entire life story or revealing too much. That can be a turnoff, too.
Find a balance so that your readers have a good impression of who you are and what kind of person they are dealing with.
If you want people to learn more about yourself, it might also be a good idea to include links to more detailed posts on your site.
Finally, it’s essential that you include at least one photo of yourself. A pictures says more than a thousand words and all that. Plus, remember the part about faceless corporations? You don’t want to be like that. Be like Pat Flynn instead.
